MBA’s Executive Management Committee for 2019-20 includes (from left to right) Shaun Burke, president and CEO of Guaranty Bank in Springfield, serving as immediate past chairman; Anne Vieira, senior vice president of Saints Avenue Bank in New London, serving as chairman; Deron Burr, president/CEO of People’s Bank of Seneca, serving as treasurer; and Brice Luetkemeyer, chairman, president and CEO of Bank of St. Elizabeth, serving as chairman-elect.

Anne Vieira, senior vice president of Saints Avenue Bank in New London, was elected and installed as chairman of the Missouri Bankers Association at the organization’s 129th Annual Convention held June 12-14 at the Hilton Branson Convention Center.

As chairman, Vieira’s duties include overseeing and directing activities of the MBA Board of Directors and representing MBA’s membership with elected officials and regulators at the state and national level. Vieira will serve as chairman for one year. She is the second woman to serve in this role.

“Anne’s knowledge of community banks and their role in strengthening economic prosperity in their communities will serve her well as she guides our association,” said Max Cook, MBA president and CEO.

“Legislation enacted by lawmakers in Jefferson City and Washington, D.C., enables community banks to better assist their customers with their financial goals of owning a home, sending their children to college or expanding their business,” Vieira said. “Our association will continue to seek changes, both in the legislature and regulatory agencies, to ensure economic growth in communities throughout Missouri.”

Vieira has been in banking for 25 years. She joined Saints Avenue Bank in 1994 after working for the National Park Service and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A member of the bank’s board of directors,
Vieira has overseen compliance, audit, human resources and marketing. She has served on the MBA Board of Directors since 2016, the Budget and Audit Committee, the Membership Committee, the Mark Twain PAC Committee and the MBA Bankers Benefit Corporation Board of Directors.

At MBA’s convention, Brice Luetkemeyer, chairman, president and CEO of Bank of St. Elizabeth, was elected and installed as MBA chairman-elect. He joined the bank in 1988. He was named chairman, president and CEO of the holding company in 2000 and was named chairman, president and CEO of the bank in 2009. He has more than 30 years of banking experience. Luetkemeyer has served on
the MBA Board of Directors, the Budget and Audit Committee, the Government Relations Committee and the Capitol PAC Committee. He previously was a bank examiner and field supervisor for the Missouri Division of Finance.

Deron Burr, president and CEO of People’s Bank of Seneca, was installed as treasurer. Burr has served as president and CEO of People’s Bank of Seneca since 2005. A banker for more than three decades, Burr has served on the MBA Board of Directors since 2016.
