How to Submit Federal Comment Letters

Rules and regulations are put forward by federal agencies that determine the details of new and existing laws. The banking industry can be significantly impacted by these rules and regulations.

All new rules and regulations are required to be published and open for public comment before being finalized. The comment process provides the opportunity for banks to advocate for fair and reasonable application of the law. It is critical that we make our voices heard when given the opportunity.

MBA and ABA share relevant agency proposals in e-newsletters and occasionally in urgent email messages. Learn more about online participation in the rulemaking process
