November is National Diabetes Month. Diabetes is a chronic health condition that affects about 37 million Americans and occurs when your blood sugar is too high. Prediabetes affects 96 million American adults; more than eight in 10 aren’t aware they have it.
Ways to take control in preventing diabetes include being more physically active, losing extra weight and making healthy food choices. The following are some symptoms of diabetes.
- urinating a lot, often at night
- losing weight without trying
- very hungry
- blurry vision
- tiredness
- very dry skin
- sores that heal slowly
