August is National Immunization Awareness month. There is so much information regarding vaccinations, and it is your responsibility to educate yourself so you can make a decision that is right for YOU. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the following vaccines.
Birth to age 2
- Chickenpox (varicella) vaccine
- Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (DTaP) vaccine
- Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccine
- Pneumococcal (PCV13) vaccine
- Measle, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine
- Polio (IPV) vaccine
- Rotavirus (RV) vaccine
Ages 3 through 10

- Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (DTaP) vaccine
- Flu vaccine

Ages 11 through 18
- Flu vaccine
- Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine
- Meningococcal conjugate vaccine
- Serogroup B meningococcal vaccine
- Tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap) vaccine
Adulthood
- Flu vaccine
- Tetanus (Td) vaccine
- Shingles vaccine
- Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine and pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine
- other vaccines based on health conditions, job, lifestyle or travel habits
