About the Instructor

Cheryl Bonnaffons Bella, MAI, AI-GRS, AQB Certified USPAP Instructor

A certified appraiser, Cheryl Bonnaffons Bella actively works in the banking industry as an appraisal compliance consultant. She established and managed appraisal departments for various financial institutions and now consults with banks nationwide on appraisal regulatory compliance, department structure and policy and procedure development. She previously served as vice president of Bank One Corporation and appraisal manager for Hancock Bank. She participated in due diligence analysis as part of bank acquisitions and wrote corporatewide appraisal policy and procedures, as well as lender training classes and manuals. Bella also wrote and taught annual banking compliance seminars for various state banking associations and individual financial institutions. She teaches various appraisal and real estate agent seminars and webinars, including presentations for the Appraisal Institute and American Society of Appraisers national conferences. She previously served in various positions in the Appraisal Institute at the state and regional levels and was appointed to serve on the Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Board. In 2014, Bella participated in the development of an appraisal management and compliance platform that allows banks to manage their appraisal process in-house, a system where they maintain control of decision making and data. She serves as chief compliance officer for FICRAS (Financial Institution Complete Risk Aversion Solution), a risk management platform that is used by banks nationwide.

As a private contractor, she seeks educational opportunities to learn from and instruct lenders, real estate agents and appraisers on appraisal related issues, including regulatory, appraisal theory and appraisal practices.

The cost of meals included in the registration fee for this meeting is $40. This information is provided for your bank’s tax records, in keeping with the IRS 50% deductible provisions under Section 274(n) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Cancellation/Refunds

Full refunds will be granted for cancellations received by MBA at least 10 days before the seminar date. After that date, an administrative fee of $10 per canceled registration will be retained. Cancellations will not be accepted four days before the seminar. Substitutions are always permitted.
